open you ports 8080 and 8088 if not already done :

$ telnet tbn04.nikhef.nl 8080
Trying 192.16.186.229...
telnet: connect to address 192.16.186.229: Connection refused

While :

$ telnet lcgic01.gridpp.rl.ac.uk
8080

Trying 130.246.187.158...
Connected to lcgic01.gridpp.rl.ac.uk.
Escape character is '^]'.

Best regards.
