Dear Mike, Apologies for sending this to the list - there was no individual email address given. In our searchroom we have a wonderful fire surround of the Jacobean period, although lacking the actual fireplace part. It is reputed to have come from Chilham Castle in Kent although this is a bit uncertain. It did come from a wealthy establishment though. I can send you a copy of the full write-up if this would be useful? We are working on a reconstruction of Portumna <http://www.galwayadvertiser.ie/dws/story.tpl?inc=2004/10/28/news/52104.html> Castle and we are looking for a good example of a large Jacobean fireplace which we can use as a model. If anyone knows where there is a good example I would be very grateful.
