Hey Doug - Unfortunately, we got rid of the fixed effects option to higher level analyses in Feat5 but it will be back in the next release of Feat for exactly this reason. In the mean time you can use avwmaths for simple fixed effects analyses (when you have a single "session-level" EV - e.g. mean across runs) e.g. http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/wa.exe?A2=ind0211&L=fsl&P=R3599&I=-1 for more complicated design matrices, I think you will have to use matlab.
