Apologies for cross-posting Arial Dear Colleague
Arial “E-Guides: Lead by example” National Training programme
Arial NIACE, in conjunction with the National Learning Network partners (NLN) is now recruiting for the national E-Guides Staff Development Training programme. What is the E-Guides programme? The E-Guides staff development programme has been designed to support Adult and Community Learning staff in embedding the use of e-learning across the curriculum. If someone is learning in a way that uses information and learning technology they are using e-learning (Towards a Unified e-learning Strategy Consultation Document DfES, July 2003). Information and Learning Technology (ILT) is cross-curricular and refers to the use of technology to enhance all teaching and learning. The programme aims to increase the use of e-learning in Adult and Community Learning through developing the skills and knowledge of E-Guides to support colleagues from all subjects in their use of technology in teaching and learning. E-Guides will be able to contribute to raising the quality of teaching and learning throughout their organisation. How does it work? Within each Local Authority and former External Institution, Heads of Service/Senior Managers are asked to identify individual members of staff who can be trained as E-Guides. Staff may also self-select but must seek support from their line manager. Events are planned throughout the country, and will take place between September 2004 and March 2005. There will be five events per region. The programme takes place over three days. Days 1 and 2 are consecutive, and Day 3 brings groups of E-Guides together in a Regional Workshop which takes place four to six weeks later. If you, or a member of your organisation are interested in participating please go to the website address below to get further information on how to apply to become an E-Guide. Dates and locations of the first year of training events can also be found on the website. 0000,0000,FFFFwww.niace.org.uk/conferences/Eguides.htm Alternatively, please email 0000,0000,FFFF[log in to unmask] for further details.
