£29479
Fixed term contract from 1
September 2004 – 31 December 2007
A Research Fellow is required to work on a project
funded by the ESRC Teaching and Learning Research Programme. The project, which
is directed by Professor Mary Fuller, has received funds for four years to study
‘Enhancing the quality and outcomes of disabled students’ learning in
higher education’. Other members of the team are Professor Mick Healey
(Gloucestershire), Professor Alan Hurst (Central Lancashire), Professor Sheila
Riddell and Dr Elisabet Weedon (Edinburgh) and Ms Terry Wareham and Ms Linda
Piggott (Lancaster). The post provides an excellent career opportunity for
someone who has recently completed a PhD, to work with a team of researchers on
a high-profile, interdisciplinary project.
You must have a higher degree in a relevant
discipline (probably social science, but other disciplines may be accepted).
Experience of qualitative research methods and of researching disability issues
is essential, as is an interest in teaching and learning. Knowledge of
appropriate software would be an advantage. You must possess excellent
interpersonal skills and be able to interview individuals from a range of
different backgrounds.
Further details and application form can be obtained from the Personnel & Staff Development Department, Pittville Campus, University of Gloucestershire, Cheltenham GL52 3JG.
