Sorry about the error - please try the link from the list page

the URL breaking up that caused a problem but this may work

There is going to be a LTSN workshop called "Supporting Students with
Disabilities in the Physical Science" which includes Chemistry on
09/06/04
at Nottingham Trent University

will be on hand.

Strathclyde Student Support Services may be able to offer advice

also have the Teachability Project - In the meantime here are some links
that I have in my folder on the subject!

In 1998 the Royal Society of Chemistry produced a Health and Safety document
for those working in labs http://www.rsc.org/pdf/ehsc/disabled.pdf
which is
not a very exciting document but it does provide some provide some
guidelines.

I wonder if the Nat Centre for Tactile Diagrams have used the TAEVIS Tactile
Diagram CD which has Chemistry as one of the subjects

There is an American list for all mail lists related to the subject of

Subject: Blind Chemistry student

We have a blind student starting with us next year to do Chemistry.
We're
making all the usual investigations (Nat Centre for Tactile Diagrams
etc) as
it's a very visually-based subject and the bulk of info is presented
diagrammatically. I just wondered if anyone had direct experience of the
same situation that they'd be willing to share with me? Someone at the
Tactile Diagrams place told us they'd only heard of one other blind student
of Chemistry! Thanks,

Sue
