LEAs have paid out petrol costs, I'm not aware of any reg that precludes
them doing so. I ususlly suggest a mileage amount of 20p per mile -
50% of the inland revenues agreed business rate. One can determin the
distance between the students home and their insitution by using the RAC
route finder. www.rac.co.uk
The LEA may still insist that they be sent petrol reciepts as well, as
they need something on file.

Subject: Petrol v taxi costs

Dear all

Is there anything in the regs that states whether the DSA can fund the
petrol costs for a student with an adapted vehicle to and from uni? The
LEA have offered to pay taxis, but not petrol.

Thanks

Emma
