Assumptions, hmm. Was the boy old enough to give informed consent and, if so, had they told him in advance that they would be showing his name address and postcode?

Given that they then cut to the boy, now a man, for his recollections, I
think we can safely assume that he had given his consent to show the
clip, don't you!?!

All,

A quick observation on how times have changed with regards to privacy
in the UK.

I watched the Match of the Day 40th Anniversary programme last night
and apart from the quality of football and haircuts one thing struck me
about how different things are today with regards to the 'right to
privacy' and so on.

The programme showed clips of the first "Goal of the Month" competition
and viewers sent answers in on a postcard. The first winner was a young
boy, and the camera zoomed in and showed his postcard - including his
answers and his whole name and address (postcode & everything!) the
camera hung on this shot for some time as well! The fact they even
showed this clip again could be another story perhaps?

Regards

Mark
