Apologies if this has been referred to but I don't remember seeing it.

The following news report of a DP case (brought to my notice by Mason's excellent http://www.out-law.com service) may be of interest. It refers to a computer operator working for Gwent Police who has been fined £400 for using control room computers to investigate people she knew, in breach of the Data Protection Act, according to a report in The Western Mail.
