I would imagine that this comes under the special purposes exemption for
journalism, literature and art, although exactly how it is affected, I'm not
sure.

Presumably, it would still be covered with a SAR. You could write a letter
requesting a proof of the photo and quote DPA, enclosing a cheque for £10.
Surely you'll get your photo that way!

Stewart.

***** THIS EMAIL WAS SENT VIA THE INTERNET *****

All

My son was playing cricket the other week and last week one of his work
colleagues had picked up a free magazine - "What's on in the Scottish
Borders" magazine, anyway he was looking through it and there was a photo of
my son playing. Anyway, I phoned up the magazine to try and get the proof
as it was a good photo. I was asked why I wanted it and explained to keep
for posterity as it was my son and the journalist said he would have to ask
the photographer's permission....to which I nearly said my son had not given
consent to have the picture published but as I wanted the proof I didn't.
As he was playing on a public pitch I presume they can just print???? Any
thoughts??
