"The pursuit of crime suspects has never been as important as the privacy of
citizens to think, speak and communicate freely. It is critical that this is
not forgotten in the future, for the consequences of paranoia, alienation,
and citizen-government suspicion may break down the very communication that
electronic surveillance is designed to hear." Albanese, J.S., 1984. In:
anonymous (Eds.), Electronic Surveillance... Is Big Brother Listening?,
Justice, Privacy, and Crime Control. University Press of America, Lanham, p.
16.

Given all of the privacy intrusive methods currently in place/being
developed that statement looks to have been disproven somehow, but it is
still relevant and is a good indication of how limited the s.29 exemption
is.
