Well in the normal course of events a petition isn't secret - its generally
taken that the point of a petition is that people are publicly putting their
name to a common cause/belief.

Obviously people have signed this in the hope of some action, but if the
person isn't a known sex offender/already under suspicion with the police
then this amounts to slander/defamation doesn't it?

You get some good ones don't you!
