Did anyone see the newspapers article at the weekend about the octogenarian who, trying to buy over the phone, was refused supply of a jigsaw on the basis that she was too old? On explanation the company spokesman indicated that the Data Protection Act prevented them obtaining a credit check for someone of such advanced years.

Anyone have any background to this?
