I don't believe that you are correct in saying this. With the exception
of the World service (for which the Foreign Office pays directly,
more-or-less) the BBC receives the Licence fee directly and that is all
it gets. (Plus anything it can raise from commercial activities.)
This is not like the Road Fund and other taxes on motoring.

II would say that it is a tax. It is many years since it has had any
relationship to the amount of money that the BBC get. It is now just put
into tye general government pot and they decide separately THE LEVEL OF
bbc FINANCE.
