We've had a number of requests for disclosure today, a coupleof which aren't entirely straightforward. One is from the Fraud Office of the Student Awards Agency for Scotland which quotes s.29 (1) . This requires one of the conditions in Sch 2 to be satisfied but 'the execercise of functions of a public nature exercised in the public interest' would seem to cover it? Another is from the Dept of Work & Pensions. Is there any statutory requirement for disclosing to them? They don't give any clue as to why it might be wanted (& I'm inclined to challenge it at the moment!). Any advice gratefully received.
