Having just been to my bank to apply for a 0% card I have had my eyes
opened.
On filling in the form on-line with a bank employee, I was asked (amongst
other things these questions)
How long have you banked with us ?
mmmm ... since about 1981 I think, I said
Oh, we've got 1998, she said, no matter, that's ok
Where do you work ?
Pembrokeshire County Council, I said
Oh, we've got South Pembrokeshire Council Council, she said, no matter,
that's ok
(Re-organisation was in 1996.......)
What's your house worth ? Do you still live there ?
mmmmm... about £200,000 I would think, I said, and Yes, I do
Oh, we've got £ 65,000, she said no matter, that's ok
What's your monthly salary ?
mmmm ... about £nn I said (not telling you all that one !)
Oh, we've got £n she said - it was way out.
My pay goes in every month to my account by bacs !
She asked for no confirmation of any of this......not even confirmation
that I was who I said I was. I had to give that old chestnut my mother's
maiden name, but if I hadn't been who I said I was....and said I'd
moved.....who would be getting my 0% card in 7 - 10 days ?
