I wondered if colleagues could advise me on the possible DPA
implications etc on the introduction of a smart card system for entry into
offices etc.

The system would allow entry for individuals to certain buildings by use
of a swipe card, this swipe would be logged and may be produced on a
daily report showing who has entered which building when.

Buildings would be zoned so that only certain types of users could enter
certain rooms or buildings etc, obviously for security purposes.
