Out of 522 members receiving the message, 18 people responded, of whom 14 said they would not be happy with just a marker indicating their innocence, 4 were in favour of leaving the record as it is (although at least one was tongue in cheek, expanding the scenario to result in him getting a home in the Caribbean). The suggestions for sorting out the problem ranged from asking the ICO to assess right through to suing the police. The weather here is so bad that home in the Caribbean sounds really attractive.
