And the publisher then said.......... Or was it like the sound of one hand
clapping?

In the words of Tiny Blur: "Education, Education Education, And I really
mean that!" (Ok, I may have misquoted, but what the heck!)

It's time for some ACTION. I am sick of education. This is a set of laws
that are not being enforced. Lack of enforcement leads to total abuse. I
am a member of a newsgroup "NANAE" and see the way the UKIC is despised
internationally there. Mind you, they do despise everyone else, too! BUT
they say, rightly, that the IC is not wholly effective!

In an earlier message on this subject I mentioned an approach to the IC
regarding abuse of data by a magazine publisher. The IC has taken flack on
the list recently over not responding in a timely manner.

Well, credit where it's due. My original letter was received by the IC on
11th December and they posted a substantive reply to me on 16th January.
Not quite within the 28 calendar days but we have had Christmas in between.

The IC has also written to the publisher pointing out that their actions
contravened the first principle.

Regards,
Graham
