Knowing what planning applications have been filed is a useful service.
Even more so if on the Internet, as one can't always visit the planning
department on a regular basis. If the affected addresses are listed
(which would be a natural requirement) that's good enough. I don't need
to know the name or address of the applicant where they are private
individuals, online; all I was alluding to earlier was that the
applicant will often be living at the affected address.
