There's a few of these schemes popping up - with tacit government approval if the IT / PC magazines are to be believed, as will bring IT / internet to the masses. The scheme I read about (in ComputerActive?) required several hours of advert watching. Though as the adverts supplied on a monthly CD-ROM, I'm not sure how they could enforce the contract if you just shoved it in and left the room to do something more interesting for a while! I suppose they ask all those questions for demographic analysis or to tailor the adverts sent or whatever. Maybe they keep their records on paper in a pile in the corner of the office - can't assume that they necessarily undertake automated processing that requires notification just because they are computer suppliers!!!!
