I e-mailed my MP towards the end of 2002 to ask for his Data Protection Notification reference because I couldn't find his name in the on-line register. Never got a reply - but a little while later his name mysteriously did appear in the register. I also wrote to him once (can't remember the subject). Reply was something along the lines of he was part of the government (some very junior commission post) so couldn't help me as it might go against policy. Oh - and he hasn't run surgeries for years. Never mind, he's got his knighthood.
