Including the alarm-bell-sounding: "People who have nothing to hide - why would they worry?" >Pity the school concerned has so badly failed to provide adequate >notice. Indeed. And as this has been done within the first week at a new school, there aren't any newsletters to have missed. Meanwhile, I've found the school's brochure, and it doesn't mention the library at all (except once in a list of places that teacher must be present). In particular there's two pages regarding charges that might be levied (largely to do with school trips) and that fails to mention the 5p per library book (which is apparently the underlying "reason" for the ID). -- Roland Perry ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ All archives of messages are stored permanently and are available to the world wide web community at large at http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/data-protection.html If you wish to leave this list please send the command leave data-protection to [log in to unmask] All user commands can be found at : - http://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/help/commandref.htm (all commands go to [log in to unmask] not the list please) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
