I think so, because that's how the US maillists suggest you 'fiddle' the total/average scores, but it's not something I use. Others are probably more familiar with it. Where I'm not sure is whether you need to remove the link to the quiz as well, because I think the above hides it from my grades but not if you go back and look at the test. The students can also see their marks. When we'ed lime to achive is a situation whereby the lecturer leaves the marks on the system for say one week and then makes them unavailable to students but without actually losing them.
