Doesn't it hide it if you set the properties of the gradebook column to not
show to students? I think so, because that's how the US maillists suggest
you 'fiddle' the total/average scores, but it's not something I use. Others
are probably more familiar with it. Where I'm not sure is whether you need
to remove the link to the quiz as well, because I think the above hides it
from my grades but not if you go back and look at the test. However,
depending on how it's set, you might not get back into the quiz anyway.

Subject: Blackboard 5 - Question about the Online Gradebook

A lecturer has an assessment of MCQs , etc and so the Blackboard system has
provided a column automatically on the on-line gradebook.

The students can also see their marks. When we'ed lime to achive is a
situation whereby the lecturer leaves the marks on the system for say one
week and then makes them unavailable to students but without actually losing
them. The only workround I can see is to export the gradebook and then make
the assessment unavailable, but was wondering if there more elegant
solutions?
