Dear all, thanks for the paper proposals which have been arriving thick and fast today for this year's Durham conference. We have also had a number of extension requests (like being a student again, isn't it?!). So I'm repeating the original invitation below. If you would like to submit a paper proposal, but haven't quite got around to it yet, please let us know, and if we have a 'statement of intent' then we'll accept the abstract as soon as you can after today. We would love to hold a full strand of papers from academics and library staff, so do please forward to colleagues as appropriate. Kate ---- Friends and colleagues, Proposals are invited for papers to be given at the 5th annual Durham Blackboard Conference, to be held on December 16th and 17th 2004. This year's theme is 'Interactive Blackboards'; we anticipate this will provide a varied programme of equal calibre to previous years, celebrating both our community of practice and the deeper embedding of Blackboard within our learning and teaching. Because of the range of backgrounds of delegates, we intend to offer two sessions of parallel papers, in order to allow delegates to select a conference programme that is most appropriate to them. Therefore we would like to invite proposals for short papers or panel discussions from the following areas of expertise: Staff Development/Instructional Design SysAdmin/Technical Development FE Strategy/Practice HE Strategy/Practice Library/VLE collaboration We will accept 500 word (maximum) abstracts by email to the Learning Technologies Team, <mailto:[log in to unmask]> [log in to unmask] up to the 15th October 2004 (please note the first letter of this email address is an 'L'!), and will finalise the programme by the 1st November. As usual, details and registration will be available at http://www.dur.ac.uk/ltteam/bbuk Look forward to seeing lots of you in December.
