Posted on behalf of the East Midlands Museums Hub:

The East Midlands Hub in partnership with the East Midlands Museums
Libraries and Archives Council (EMMLAC) and East Midlands Museum Service
(EMMS) is funding a pilot project to develop a Mentoring Scheme for the
Interact Network (East Midlands network of freelance educators). This
scheme has been devised by Interact freelancers with the support of
Hub/EMMLAC/EMMS staff. It will run from September 2004 – April 2006.

The EM Hub has appointed a Freelance Consultant to oversee the management
of the Mentoring Team and to evaluate the project. Four Interact
freelancers have been chosen to make up the mentoring team for this pilot
project, and together they will be mentoring and evaluating new
freelancers, who wish to develop their skills to deliver excellent
education services as a freelance educator.

The mentoring team is now looking to invite applications for prospective
mentees who would like to benefit from the training, mentoring evaluation
process from September 2004.

We are looking to initially select four individuals from a range of
backgrounds, who want to work with a range of audiences, across the
regions museums, who either are, or committed to become a freelance
educator.

If you know of any person(s) who either are working as a freelance
educator, or who would like to become a freelance educator working in the
East Midlands, I would be grateful if you pass details of this excellent
opportunity to them. Application packs can be requested from Jeremy
Wiltshire on [log in to unmask] or 0116 285 1366. Deadline for
applications will be Thursday 26th August 2004.

If you would like any further information about the Interact Mentoring
Scheme, or would like more information about freelance educators or
Interact please do not hesitate to get in contact with me.
