A Travellers' Project is a potential collaboration between Travellers, the South East Museums Libraries and Archives Council, and museums, libraries and archives and networking organisations in the South East. In active partnership with the Traveller community and practitioners from the museum, library and archive community of the South East will examine current practice and build a demonstration project.

Two further phases are envisaged at this point: ongoing work with and for Traveller communities and museums libraries and archives in the southeast which will be actively marketed to members of Traveller communities. This work will build upon the research findings of the first phase.  This work may be observed and form part of an academic investigation of practice in this area.

The third phase is currently envisioned as including a cultural audit, an exhibition programme, development of book bus services, and dissemination of best practice.  The exact nature of the activities in this phase will be shaped by the research findings.
