The University of Zurich invites applications for a Professorship in English Literature after 1780 to be filled by March 2006 or later. Preference may be given to candidates with a special interest in British Romanticism, British Victorianism, British Modernism, American literature, post-colonial literature, and/or literature and philosophy. Candidates must demonstrate an active interest in contemporary theoretical and methodological debates as well as interdisciplinary approaches. Substantial publications beyond the doctoral thesis are a prerequisite. Teaching is done in English and an adequate command of German is required.
