RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN BIOSTATISTICS AND BIOINFORMATICS 

Salary £22,116-£32,232 inclusive of London Allowance
This appointment is for two years in the first instance

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious post-doc with a PhD in
mathematics, statistics, physics or bioinformatics who is looking to 
develop their career as a biostatistician in the field of genomics.

The position is linked to the Wellcome Trust project Biological Atlas 
of Insulin Resistance (BAIR) coordinated by Professor James Scott and 
involving an inter-disciplinary team working to develop the understanding
of metabolic diseases and in particular the syndrome of insulin resistance
(http://www.bair.org.uk).

You will work directly with Professor Sylvia Richardson, Head of the 
Biostatistics Group in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health,
and Dr Natalia Bochkina to implement the statistical analysis of the BAIR 
microarrays and to develop and apply multivariate statistical tools to
integrate gene expression and other types of genomic data (proteomic, metabonomic). You will be associated with the Biostatistics programme of the newly established Mathematical Sciences Institute at Imperial.

You will need experience in statistical modelling and use of statistical software, and also computing skills including the ability to program substantial codes. You should have a strong interest in Biology and or Genetics and Genomics and strong interpersonal skills.
