University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK School of Mathematics & Statistics SENIOR LECTURESHIP/LECTURESHIP IN STATISTICS Applications are invited for either a Senior Lectureship or Lectureship in Statistics in the School of Mathematics & Statistics. Applicants for the Senior Lectureship should have a record of substantial research achievements in statistics. Applicants for the Lectureship should have a good track record or be able to demonstrate excellent research potential. Candidates should be enthusiastic teachers and will need to demonstrate excellent communications skills. The University of Newcastle has a strong tradition of applied methodological research in statistics and the statistics section was rated 5A in RAE2001. This new position reflects the University's commitment to the subject and willingness to build on the impressive strengths which exist within the statistics section. Candidates should have a good track record or be able to demonstrate excellent research potential, have experience of teaching statistics at a university level and demonstrate excellent communications skills both orally and in written form. In addition it is essential that candidates applying for the Senior Lectureship have a record of substantial research achievement in methodology and/or innovative applications. Salary will be at an appropriate point on the Senior Lecturer scale (£37,558 - £42,573) or Lecturer A/B scale (£23,643 - £35,883) depending on qualifications and experience.
