National Patient Safety Agency NHS

SAS Application Administrator/Senior Data Analyst
£30,000 - £35,000
Ref: 108

We are at the forefront of patient safety encouraging NHS staff to report
things that go wrong so that lessons can be learnt and findings
shared across the health service. As part of improving patient safety,
we develop innovative solutions that can prevent mistakes being
repeated.

In return for your commitment, we offer excellent opportunities for
personal development, flexible working arrangements and a healthy
work/life balance. This important role will see you actively developing
our ability to monitor, and therefore react to, patient safety incidents.
You will do so by creating and maintaining a system that will allow the
effective collation, analysis, preparation and reporting of incident data.
Providing expert advice, training and support, you will help internal and
external users alike benefit fully from the resulting statistics. You will
also analyse the data yourself, in order to both monitor emerging
trends and support any programmes of action.

Having worked with large data sets for at least three years, you will
bring a wide range of knowledge of statistical and research
techniques to the post. You will have a solid understanding of SAS
and other computerised statistical programmes and you will be able
to translate often complex data into understandable and accessible
reports. Importantly, you will also be comfortable working to tight
deadlines.
