It is anticipated that participants have a prior knowledge of simple regression procedures and experience in a standard statistical package (e.g. SPSS, STATA, SAS). • Linear/Logistic Regression • Presentation of Data and Problems • Introduction to MLwiN • Multilevel Linear/Logistic Regression • Estimation Methods (inc. Markov Chain Monte Carlo) • Special Point in Analysing Binary Response Participants will be required to undertake initial single-level analyses in a standard package of choice (selected from SPSS, STATA, SAS) and thereafter instruction will be given on using MLwiN in all subsequent sessions. The MLwiN software will be available to participants at heavily reduced rates (more than 50% discount for academics). The course shall be led by Dr Mark Gilthorpe – Reader in Statistical Epidemiology & Head of Biostatistics, University of Leeds – and Dr Morten Frydenberg – Associate Professor of Statistics, Biostatistics, Aarhus University, Denmark.
