We invite applications for the following new posts with the Wellbeing in
Developing Countries (WeD) ESRC Research Group.

Job Ref: 04/118: Data Manager
Responsible for designing and managing a system for verifying, entering,
cleaning and archiving both quantitative and qualitative data.  The data
manager will coordinate data management in the project countries and will
liase with research teams to ensure all research instruments are appropriate
for data collection, entry and analysis.  Applicants should have a good
first degree with a substantial computing component.  Experience in managing
survey data systems, particularly in developing countries, is desirable.

Job Ref: 04/119: Research Officer - Economics of Development
Playing a key role in the analysis of quantitative data at the household and
individual levels, the research officer will also have a supervisory role in
the management of data for the project as a whole.  The successful candidate
will have experience of the design, implementation and analysis of
quantitative household survey data and should have a PhD, preferably in
development economics, or equivalent research experience.

Job Ref: 04/120: Research Officer - Analysis of Secondary Data
Responsible for producing a WeD 'macro' database on needs, resources,
poverty and inequality in the four study countries.  This post will also
entail a specific role in managing the dissemination of the work of the
Research Group. The successful candidate will have experience in
identifying, collecting and analysing secondary data on key development
indicators and should have a PhD in social science or development studies,
or equivalent research experience.  Experience of public relations or
dissemination work is essential.

Salaries for all posts will be on the scale £18,265 - £27,339 (pending
national pay award) depending on experience. Posts are available for up to
two years in the first instance.
