UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE SCHOOL OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS CHAIR OF STATISTICS We seek an individual with an outstanding research record for a proleptic appointment to the Chair of Statistics, currently held by Professor Murray Aitkin. There is a strong tradition of applied and methodological research in statistics at Newcastle and applications are encouraged from scholars specializing in any area of statistics. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership within the statistics group, which was rated 5A in RAE2001, and in the School. The appointee will also have appropriate teaching experience and will contribute to the School's undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Salary will be at an appropriate point on the Professorial salary scale.
