Centre for Applied Social Surveys Short Course Using the CASS Social Survey Question bank Course Supported by the ESRC Harshad C. Keval and Julie Lamb 5 March 2004, University of Southampton CASS is an ESRC Resource Centre hosted by the National Centre for Social Research, the University of Southampton and the University of Surrey An introduction to the facilities offered by the CASS Social Survey Question bank on the World Wide Web. The course is aimed at social survey researchers, users of survey data and teachers and students of survey research methods and will enable users to get the best out of the facilities the Question bank now offers. It will include demonstrations of the Question bank and its facilities and contents. Advice and hands-on practice will be given in navigating and searching the Question bank using the search engine Smartlogikä. Lecturers Harshad Keval is the Question bank Manager and Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology, University of Surrey. Julie Lamb is the Question bank Content Manager and Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology, University of Surrey.
