'A life course approach to chronic disease epidemiology'

Abstract:
This seminar will present on-going conceptual issues around life
course epidemiology. It will discuss various models for considering
risk factors for chronic diseases. This will be illustrated using
empirical examples from the new second edition of "A life course
approach to chronic disease epidemiology" edited by Diana Kuh, Yoav
Ben-Shlomo, OUP 2004. It will present future and emerging areas of
development for life course epidemiology.

Dr. Yoav Ben-Shlomo is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Epidemiology at
the Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol. His current
research involves the long term influence of pre, post-natal and
childhood growth on various chronic diseases.
