The next UK Extremes meeting is planned for Tuesday 14th December 2004 (day) - Wednesday 15th December (morning) at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in Extreme Value Theory and its applications. Further information about the meeting, including a list of current speakers, can be found at http://www.mas.ncl.ac.uk/~n9047156/evt-meeting.html The aim of the meeting is to provide a forum for discussing current and future developments in theory and methods for extremes. Hopefully this will include discussion of interesting applications, but the application of standard methods should not be the focus. The meetings should be informal and provide a forum for feedback and response on current and ongoing projects as well as a means of presentation of work that is near or at completion. If you wish to attend the meeting, or require more information about the meeting, please could you reply to me at [log in to unmask] If you also wish to give a presentation at the meeting, please could you let me have the following information: Proposed title of talk Proposed length of talk (up to 40 mins) Status of work described in talk (wish list / work just beginning / work in progress / well advanced) Please feel free to forward this email to any colleagues that you think might be interested in the group and/or the meetings.
