University of Sheffield PhD studentship to start October 2004

Project title: Statistical tools for investigating issues of
contemporaneity in palaeo-environmental and archaeological records

Jointly supervised by: Dr Caitlin Buck (Probability and Statistics) and
Dr Paul Pettitt (Archaeology)

Student required:  We have funding to cover the tuition fees and stipend
of an MSc, MMath or good BSc level mathematics or statistics graduate
from the UK/EU (overseas students might be considered, but they would
need some of their own funding to cover overseas tuition fees).
  Training in archaeology and palaeo-environmental issues will be offered
at Sheffield.
