Senior / Principal Statistician - GlaxoSmithKline.
Greenford, Southeast England.

Do you have a minimum of 3 years experience, with preferably much of this
time being in the clinical pharmacology area, and have demonstrated
ability to contribute successfully and to influence in a cross-functional
matrix environment?

The Candidate:

MSc in Statistics is required, ideally with some medical statistics
content.

You will ideally have at least 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical
industry as well. Applications are particularly welcomed from more
experienced candidates and from those with a PhD in a statistics-related
area.

exciting new compounds currently in development in the respiratory and
inflammation therapeutic areas, targeted at asthma, rhinitis, COPD and RA
disease areas, the Clinical Pharmacology Statistics and Programming team
based in Greenford is a vital part of the matrix that brings new drug
compounds through from the laboratory into healthy volunteers and
ultimately to our key customers, the patients.

In a fast-paced environment, as a vital part of a team of energetic, busy
professional statisticians and programmers, you will be contributing to
every aspect of the design and analysis of trials of these new compounds
in Phase 1 of their clinical development. There is also the opportunity to
contribute to methodology and research into the use of novel biomarkers
and endpoints.

As well as using your proven statistical expertise, you will advise
international clinical development programmes and also research the
statistical methodology appropriate for new areas. Working closely with
clinical pharmacologists, clinical research scientists, and data managers
as well as other statisticians, you will have excellent team-working and
planning skills, along with a wide knowledge of the drug development
process.
