We are looking for a researcher with an excellent teaching record who has a strong background in the design, implementation and analysis of empirical studies. The appointee will be required to teach Quantitative Methods, Statistics and Secondary Data Analysis in the undergraduate programs within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Hence, applicants should hold a Ph.D. in a related area such as sociology, education or psychology. Applicants without a Ph.D. will be considered for the position if they have at least five years teaching experience in methods and statistics (three years if teaching was done in English). A basic understanding of qualitative research approaches and interest and willingness to expand on this knowledge is highly desired. IUB offers an international environment with motivated young faculty and collaborations across the disciplines. As the language of instruction at IUB is English, proficiency in English is a prerequisite for the position. Salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is limited in duration to two years. The annual teaching load is four courses at three hours each. Preferably, work at IUB should begin in January 2005.
