Experience in studying genetic basis of disease preferred. Role Details: Positions available in several disease/therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, metabolic, urology and neurology. Align epidemiologic strategy and support to the company's Research and Development disease strategy worldwide. This will assist the company in evaluation of its research portfolio, improve design of clinical research programs, anticipate and study clinical safety issues pre-and post-approval, and expand market awareness to improve the commercialization of GSK products. Key Responsibilities: The candidate will maintain and expand a worldwide epidemiologic strategy and research program in cardiovascular, metabolic, urology or neurology therapeutic area. Develop strong partnerships with research, managerial, and commercial professionals within the company. Plan resource allocation to accomplish research program; negotiate funding of projects from internal GSK customers. Develop and negotiate research plans with external collaborators in academia or contract research organizations. Identify innovative and cost effective methods to conduct epidemiologic studies. Oversee and approve epidemiologic and statistical methodologies; conduct studies using databases available within the Epidemiology Department. Author epidemiology sections of worldwide regulatory submissions. Present the company position on epidemiology issues and epidemiology findings to regulatory agencies and other external authorities. Establish a track record of external publications in peer reviewed journals.
