Datatech Pharmaceutical have the following opportunity,

A leading Clinical Research Organisation requires a Principal Statistician
to join its team in the South East.

Within this challenging role you will be responsible for developing
Statistical Analysis Plans, to include methodology, programming procedures,
definition of derived variables, data-handling rules and mock-ups, whilst
developing and coordinating QC procedures for Biometrics deliverables,
ensuring activities are appropriate for effectively and efficiently
delivering quality output within a specific project.  You will be
responsible to for input to statistical reports, Clinical Study Reports and
providing statistical guidance on the development of the clinical research
program.  You will have statistical input on the design/review of formats
CRF, supervise/train less-experienced statisticians within project
activities and lead large global or other major programs.  You will also
contribute to proposal activities and client presentations and represent
the department during audits.

To succeed you will have the following skills and experience:

- An MSc in a numerical subject, preferably with a strong medical
statistics component.
- Five years' postgraduate experience in the application of statistics to
clinical trials.
- Interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Self-motivation and the ability to motivate others, team-oriented and
proactive.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining high standards
- SAS proficiency including use of a variety of statistical procedures eg,
non-parametric analysis, linear and non-linear models, categorical data and
survival analysis.
- Ability to adhere to strict guidelines & codes of practice.
- Knowledge of the overall Clinical Trial process and of its application
within Clinical Development.
- Ability to explain statistical concepts to non-statisticians.
- Supervisory and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach to the management of day-to-day activities and
actions that may affect business.
