The University of Newcastle, Australia, is seeking a new professor of
statistics.

The statistics group consists of 5 full time academic staff, 7 FT PhD
students, 1 FT research masters students and a number of PT research
students.  The group also jointly runs the NewStat external consulting
group.

Our research interests lie mainly in time series, flexible distributions
and bayesian, financial, spatial, health and industrial statistics. We
have funded research links with engineering (control), environment and
geography groups.

Our teaching includes core statistics, a coursework masters program
available by distance, and service teaching to business, environment,
psychology, health, biomedical science.
