Meeting on Monday 22/March (start 15:30) of the Leeds/Bradford and Humberside Local groups of the Royal Statistical Society to be held at the Central Science Laboratory, Sand Hutton, York, UK. CSL is an Executive Agency of the UK Government Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs. We specialise in the sciences underpinning agriculture for sustainable crop production, environmental management and conservation and in food safety and quality. Arising from the research we carry out is a wide range of analytical, diagnostic and consultancy services designed to support the international land-based and food industries. Much of this work presents interesting opportunities for statisticians to work on design and analysis - including the development of novel approaches. http://www.csl.gov.uk/ The programme for the meeting: 15:30 - Four short presentations on the work of the CSL that has a mathematical or statistical interest, 16:15 - Tea and an opportunity to view posters and displays about our work, 17:00 - Talk by Prof. Martin Bland on the BBC2 Horizon Homeopathy experiment for which he was the statistician.
