HEEON CONFERENCES - 2005
'From Exclusion to Inclusion: The Diverse Student Experience'
To be held at Woburn House, London on Wednesday 19th January, 2005.

Aim: Equality and Diversity Practitioners are increasingly being required
to
work across both staff and student areas. This conference will focus on the
challenge to actively and fully include students from diverse backgrounds
into University life. The day will provide an opportunity to examine
cultural and faith perspectives and the needs of international and disabled
students. Key to the outcomes of the day will be for equality and diversity
practitioners to discover ways in which they can understand the student
widening participation agenda and work with colleagues towards enhancing the
experience of students from minority backgrounds.

Objectives: By the end of this conference you will:
        * better understand key challenges in relation to
international
students and students from diverse backgrounds;
        * have learned more about the different agencies and
initiatives supporting students from diverse backgrounds;
        * have identified ways in which you can support student
inclusion.

The fee for the day is: £175 plus VAT. Please note there is a reduction of
£50 per day for up to 3 delegates from each HEEON corporate member
institution.
Cheques should be made payable to University College Worcester.
