Subject: Re: Access Satements Draft ConsultationHi CarolOk we'll hold off. The reason we went ahead was because the DRC did not respond to any e-mails asking about the matter and the time for action was passing byDave----------End of Message--------------- Original Message -----From: [log in to unmask] href="mailto:[log in to unmask]">Carol ThomasTo: [log in to unmask] href="mailto:[log in to unmask]">[log in to unmask]Sent: Tuesday, May 04, 2004 6:28 PMSubject: Re: Access Satements Draft ConsultationRe access statements guidance. The DRC guidance on this is a little delayed but will be out very soon (hopefully in the next week or so) and will be available on the DRC web site. It has been produced with input from several key organisations so I don't think there is any need to produce another set of guidance which may differ and thus confuse issues, and by the time it is ready the DRC guidance should be out.Hope this helps,CarolCarol ThomasJMU Access Partnership-----Original Message-----

Subject: Access Satements Draft ConsultationHi AllAs we are all aware Access Statements are now required for all planning applications. Part M 2004 stated that the DRC would provide guidance this has not been forthcoming, therefore in order that companies meet with similar requirements throughout the UK I have knocked together the attached Access Statement Form and it's accompanying explanatory notes.Due to time factors this is in a rough draft format but is I hope sufficient for those interested to comment. If the consensus is favourable I propose to finalise these documents after people have had a chance to comment. This will then be sent to the DRC for final review.ThanksDave Crofte-mail [log in to unmask]----------End of Message----------Run by SURFACE for more information on research, consultancy and the distance taught MSc. in Accessibility and Inclusive Design programme visit:
