The British Library's new Regional and Library Programmes

Stephanie Kenna is to manage the British Library's new Regional and Library
Programmes. This recognises the strategic importance of the regional agenda
and builds on the partnerships developed by the Library's Co-operation and
Partnership Programme (CPP) since its establishment in 1999.

In response to the Library's new strategic directions CPP has, in recent
years, moved away from project based funding and general Calls for Proposals
to a managed and targeted programme in support of the Library's chosen
markets: the research community, the education sector, the business
community, the general public and the library and information community.
New partnerships have been developed with institutions which directly
interact with end users, such as public libraries, and with strategic and
other intermediary bodies and organisations such as Resource, the new
regional agencies, the Society of Chief Librarians and professional bodies.

Stephanie will co-ordinate the Library's regional and country strategies and
develop and implement its regional programme in partnership with the wider
library and information network.
