All of the jobs for 15k in the interactive job centre touch screen are under skilled labour - checked today - I think that to expect to work with an MA and chartered for this amount, and then go for jobs in which they say "salary negotiable" tells you a lot about where we stand: at the skilled labour end ! And, by the looks of it, things are getting worse (or, to put it another way, why work as "acting librarian"/fee staff/"casual freelance" etc waiting until management make up their minds (and proceed to give the good jobs to their Oxbridge chums) when you can earn more as a manager in other sectors (using the same skills these days).
