The ICS would like to thank the Information Centre about Asylum and Refugees

This one-day conference will focus on images and representations of asylum
seekers and refugees in the United Kingdom. It will address a range of
representational forms, from the media to literature, film, photography,
theatre and NGO work. Its objective is to examine critically various forms
used by and for asylum seekers and refugees. This will be done by exploring
issues such as ethical dilemmas, political challenges, creative opportunities
and, more generally, how the terms of the debate on asylum seekers and
refugees is being defined and contested in the public sphere.
